Elevate Your Bathroom Design with Polished Plasters

Are you considering using polished plaster in your bathroom? Radovan Najman, the Executive Officer of Němec s.r.o., will reveal which one to choose and why.

From our side, we can only recommend Betonepox® epoxy based polished plasters. It is a two-component epoxy material that is non-absorbent and durable.

Where can we use it in the bathroom?

Ultimately, anywhere. You can use it on the walls as well as on the floors. Currently, we have applied it to over 100,000 square meters of surfaces, so we can confidently say that Betonepox® truly works.

What if I don't want it on the entire wall or floor?

That's not a problem at all. You can apply it only in the shower area, on the wall behind the bathtub, or even in the shower niche. Or you can use it only on the floor and the gradient of the shower area itself.

Gray color seems a bit dull to me, I would like a colorful bathroom.

Again, it's up to you and your preferences. You can have a yellow, red, or blue bathroom—whatever you like. We also work with metallic shades, so a copper or gold bathroom is not a problem. We can even play with texture and patterns.

How should the bathroom be prepared?

There are no complexities. The walls need to be covered with a full layer of reinforcing mesh and flexible cementitious adhesive in such a way that prevents the reinforcing mesh from showing through. We need to use hydro-isolation tapes in the corners. You don't have to worry about overall hydro-isolation; it is already part of our Betonepox® polished plaster. For the floor, an ideal base is a cement screed or concrete with a smooth level surface, as Betonepox® is less than 2 mm thick.

What is the workflow like?

Ideally, we come in last, even after the painters, to add the final touches. The actual application takes about six working days.

How do you maintain the polished plaster?

It is very simple and straightforward. You can use any bathroom soap or even Savo. The only thing we don't recommend is wire brushes or soaps with fine sand particles to avoid damaging the final finish. But that's an extreme case.
